Rutarata
Ruinen in Kasri Chirin und Hauch-Kerck oder Chankin (Miller)
Rutarata, which the Ravenna list also names and counts as part of Persia, lay on the map's road from Seleucia towards Ecbatana, a city the map has confused with Susa. Who hides behind the name is an open question. One suggestion links it with Arrapa in Ptolemy and places it among ruins at Qasr-e Shirin, about sixty-five kilometres south-west of Hulwan at the foot of the Zagros; another takes the name for a garbled Artemita; a third traces it back to Barasroth and looks for it east of Rache.
