Peloriarca probably lay near Tikrit in Iraq, on the Tigris, although its exact site has never been fixed. A list of places compiled in Ravenna even names a district after it, pairing it with Ctesiphon under Assyria. On the map the town is a junction: one road branches off to Hatra, another runs towards Albania in the Caucasus. Twenty Roman miles separate it from Charra on one side and from Gibrata on the other.
