River
Flumen Rhamma
Listen to the story
The river Flumen Rhamma may owe its existence to a misunderstanding: one reading holds that a single name, something like Raudanas, was split on the map into two, Rhamma and the nearby Danas. The river appears as just a name with no picture, forty Roman miles from Thelser and twenty-four from Nisistu. It was once taken for the Lesser Zab, but must lie further south, perhaps near Daquq in Iraq. Along this stretch the red road line is missing; only a faint, very thin line, as if drawn in pencil, can still be made out.
