Virga

(near Gardabia) (Barrington)

Virga, which the Roman register of routes calls Berge, lies near Gardabia in Libya. On the map it sits fifteen Roman miles beyond Nivirgi Taberna, and a stretch of ten miles runs on to Tubactis, though its start is not marked. Judging by a modern map, that stretch may first have been meant to link Virga with Casa Rimoniana instead. The register counts twenty-four miles from Berge to Seggera and twenty more to Leptis Magna.
