Virasia
? Doğantepe (ehem. Zara) ?
Virasia, the Parasia of the Ravenna list, is known from no other source. It stood on the road to Amaseia, today's Amasya, but the map's drawing of this region is so distorted that its site can only be guessed. Most look west or south-west of Amasya, perhaps at Doğantepe, formerly Zara, where a Roman milestone has been found and where people had lived since Hittite times; the sixteen miles the map gives to Amasia would roughly fit. An older idea placed it near Amastris on the coast, the city the mapmaker confused with Amasia.
