Palalce

Baraklı

Palalce lay on the road from Amasia towards Neocaesarea, at Baraklı, and the Ravenna list, which calls it a city and writes Pallagres, keeps a form that seems to echo in the modern name. A milestone of this road from the first half of the 4th century was found at Baraklı, and on a small mound nearby, pottery shows that the spot was settled at least since Hellenistic times. On the map the start of the stretch on to Coloe is not marked.
