Road station
Pagaris
Bağras ~ Ötençay
Pagaris is Pagrai, at Bağras, a stop in the district of Pieria on the way to Antioch; the Roman register of routes calls it Pagris, and the pilgrim from Bordeaux a mansio, an overnight station. In 145 BC the kings Demetrius Nicator and Alexander Balas fought a battle here. The road on to Antioch is missing on the map, together with its figure of sixteen miles, about twenty-four kilometres, probably crowded out by the large picture of the city. Six miles lead back to the station before it and ten on to Meleagrum.
