Road station
Pictanus
Belen
Pictanus is a station the map draws but never names: on the road stands a small picture of a hall, usually read as a bath house, a sign that travellers could bathe and rest here. The name comes from a pilgrim's route from Bordeaux, which lists a mutatio Pictanus, a post for changing horses, and marks it as the border between Cilicia and Syria. The place is Belen in Turkey. No distance links it to Alexandria Catisson, while Pagaris lies six Roman miles further on.
