Peutalia
Kjustendil
Peutalia is Pautalia, today Kyustendil in Bulgaria, a city founded under Trajan over a settlement of the Thracian Danthaletae, in a plain rich in mines, river gold and mineral springs. It worshipped Asclepius in a temple on the Hisarlak hill, as well as Zeus, Apollo, Dionysus, Mithras and the Thracian Rider, and it had Christian communities from the third century; Justinian repaired its walls. On the map space ran short here: a figure of twenty stands after the name with a nine above it, and the next name, Aelea, has no figure of its own.
