Piro Torto

Murstetten bei Perschling?

Listen to the story

Piro Torto, probably at the crooked pear tree, was a station on the road from Ovilava to Vindobona in Lower Austria. It is looked for near Perschling, perhaps at Murstetten. The map sets it eight Roman miles from Trigisamo and eight from Comagenis, the Roman Tulln; but the distance on to Tulln should be thirteen, so a station five miles further on may have dropped out of the copy.
