Çatalkaya

Cromen appears on the map eleven miles from Amasia and seven before Cythero, and the stretch on from it has no mark where it begins. One reading places it inland at Çatalkaya. But the name looks like that of Kromna, a little town on the Black Sea coast near Amastris, and Cythero, the next stop, was a coastal harbour too: the mapmaker seems to have hung these coastal stations after inland Amasia because he confused it with Amastris.
