Crucio

Groblje pri Šentjerneju

Listen to the story

Crucio, the Roman Crucium, was a station on the road from Emona to Neviodunum in Upper Pannonia, placed at Groblje near Šentjernej in Slovenia; older research looked near Stopiče, or near Katzendorf on the Krka, where a Roman milestone was found. The list of places compiled in Ravenna garbles the name as Cruppi. The map sets Crucio sixteen Roman miles from Ad Praetorium and sixteen from Neviodunum.
