Nivirgi taberna

(near Sidi Silin between Zliten and Misurata?) (Barrington)

Nivirgi Taberna takes its name from a taberna, a roadside inn, and on the map the road forks here: one branch runs to Simnana and the other to Virga, each fifteen Roman miles away, with Sugolin fifteen miles back. The site is sought near Sidi Silin, between Zliten and Misurata in Libya; older research saw it in the ruins of Roman forts facing the rocks of Orit. The Ravenna list writes the name as Neveri and Nivergi.
