Noetu

Gseir et-Trab?

Noetu was a stop on the coast road of Cyrenaica, twenty-five Roman miles from Phenica and the same again from Zau Taberna. The Ravenna list, which writes Noetum, places it by the sea, and the Roman register of routes probably knows the same stop as Chorotus, on the road from Boreion to Berenice. It may be Gseir et-Trab in Libya. One small quirk of the drawing: the figure twenty-five for the next stretch is turned sideways and runs along the road line where it bends downward.
