Valcaton

östl. von Sarılar

Valcaton is Balgatia, a hamlet on the Pilgrims' Road in Galatia, which the life of Saint Theodore places six miles, about nine kilometres, from his home village of Sykeon; the name is Celtic. On the parchment a small hole lies between the a and the l, and the copyist clearly wrote around it, as the photograph of 1888 shows best. Both distance figures beside it seem too large and are probably miscopied. The Ravenna list may know it as Bacchaton. Its exact site is unknown.
