Vacreus
Vacreus is a name alone on an island in the Nile Delta, without a road. Its first letter has almost vanished from the parchment, but the photograph of 1888 still shows the V, its stroke drawn out to the left and begun inside the Nile branch, just as the printed editions of 1598 and 1753 had read it. Where the place lay is open; one suggestion is Pharbaithos in the eastern Delta, a district capital that was the seat of a local ruler in the eighth and seventh centuries BC. The Ravenna list has a Bacrenis.
