Vaccis

W Salinae *Tubunenses (Barrington) · südlich vom Schott el Hodna (Miller)

Listen to the story

Vaccis was a station near the great salt lake of Chott el Hodna in Algeria, not to be confused with the better-known Vaga in Tunisia. On the map the road line dips noticeably here instead of running straight, perhaps because a drawing of the salt flats once filled the space and was later left out. The map sets Vaccae sixteen Roman miles from the salt works, and twenty-five each from Ad Oculum Marinum and from Tubunae.
