Galatia
Listen to the story
Galatia, the land of the Galatians, took its name from Celtic settlers who crossed into Asia Minor in the third century BC; it lay in the interior of Asia Minor, around modern Ankara in Turkey. Its red capitals stretch across a wide swathe of the map, and the final letter has to share space with a road. It sits on the stretch between Nitazo and Aspasi, and the copyist left a gap in the middle of the name Nitazo to make room for it.
