Bir Abd Allah

Puteo, at the well in Latin, is placed at Bir Abd Allah. The geographer Ptolemy knows it as Poutea and the Ravenna list as Putan, and it belongs to Roman and late Roman times. The map counts fourteen Roman miles from Agarsel but gives no figures for the two roads that leave it. The line of one branch, towards Mazatanzur, even starts so early that the name had to be written at the end of the stretch coming from Agarsel.
