Potomia Cepora

Potomia Cepora may preserve the name of Potamia, a district of Paphlagonia that Strabo lists beside Bithynia. The station stood on the main road from Nicomedia to Gangra, probably at today's Bayındır, near the mouth of a river the map does not show; travellers of the 19th century saw many ancient remains there, and reused ancient stones still lie in the village and its cemetery. The single figures on this road are unreliable, but taken together they add up correctly from Claudiopolis to Gangra.
