Pontos

Zarnari oder Zavia

Pontos was a station by the sea, sixteen Roman miles from Sabratha and thirteen from Assaria, and the medieval geographer Guido also places it on the shore. Older research looked for it near Zarnari or Zavia. On the map, the stretch on to Assaria has no marked beginning. The Ravenna list knows the name twice, once in the form Poteo.
