Road station
Vax Villa Repentina
(between ez-Zavia and et-Tuebia?) (Barrington)
Vax Villa Repentina is a road station known on the Tabula only by a picture: the map gives no name at all, just a small drawing of a hall-like building, the kind of sign that usually marked a place offering shelter to travellers. The name comes from a Roman register of routes, which lists this stop on the coast road. It probably lay between ez-Zavia and et-Tuebia in Libya. The map puts it twenty-seven Roman miles, about forty kilometres, from Sabratha, and eighteen from Oea, modern Tripoli, although the register counts twenty-eight miles to Oea.
