Oleoberda

? Kılınçlar ? Girigizir ?

Oleoberda is split on the map where two parchment sheets were glued together, its first three letters on one sheet and the rest on the next. The second part probably goes back to the Armenian word berd, a castle, and the place may be the Seleobereia of the geographer Ptolemy; a copyist could easily have turned Seleoberda into Oleoberda if a lost station name, Olotoedariza, once stood just above it. The station lay on the road from Nicopolis to Zimara, perhaps at Kılınçlar or at Girigizir, high up at seventeen hundred and fifty metres.
