Nigro

Supsa

Nigro takes its name from a river that Arrian calls the Mogros and Pliny the Nogrus, at whose mouth the station lay, at Supsa on the Georgian coast of the Black Sea. Arrian found this river navigable, like its neighbour the Isis. The map counts three Roman miles from Apasidam and six on to Phasis, though the beginning of that last stretch is not marked.
