People
Chireoe
Colchia Circeon
Listen to the story
Chireoe is the name of a people, set in the lands east of the Sea of Azov. A list of places compiled in Ravenna seems to know them as a homeland called Colchis Circeon, and the geographer Ptolemy records similar names, the Cercitae and Cercetae, as a people on the Black Sea coast. A related name, Hiroae, turns up elsewhere on the map.
