Haris

Haris is a name found only on this map, but it may be the Charax that the geographer Ptolemy lists among the mountain towns of inner Lesser Armenia; if so, the place was known by the 2nd century AD. It lay on the frontier road from Draconis to Zimara, in reality to the south-west of Draconis. One suggestion is the Roman fortress and settlement at Melikşerif, where three ancient roads from the Euphrates meet at a height of fourteen hundred metres.
