Euanthia oder eher: Evamzia oder Evamhia

Tolofon · Τολοφών, ehemals Vitrinitsa

Evamzia, as the damaged name probably reads, is the town of Oeanthea or Euantheia on the Gulf of Corinth, near Tolofon in Greece. Only the first letters and the ending ia are clear; the middle, an m and then perhaps a z, suggests a late spoken form of Euanthia. One of the town's earliest records is a verse epitaph of the late seventh century BC for a man from Corcyra, and in 426 BC Spartan troops under Eurylochus marched through on their way to attack Naupactus.
