Euforbio
Kınık near Tatarlı, Phrygia (Turkey)
Euforbio is Euphorbium, a town of Phrygia whose people the Roman writer Pliny lists in the court district of Apamea; older research thought it was named after Euphorbos, a hero of Phrygian legend. It probably lay at Kınık near Tatarlı, on the edge of the plain once called the Metropolitanus Campus. On the map the road beyond it is drawn as two stretches, and along them runs a written note, from Euforbio to Apamea thirty-six miles, which bridges the wide gap. The real distance suggests the figure was once twenty-six, with one X written twice.
