Corveunte

südöstl. von Oğulbey, ehemals Çakal

Corveunte is the town the Greek geographer Strabo knew as Gorbeus, in Galatia; the Roman register of routes writes Corbeunca or Gorbeus, the Bordeaux pilgrim Curveunta and the Ravenna list Corbeufe. It lay south-east of Oğulbey, a village once called Çakal. On the map the stretch beyond it is drawn as two where there should be one, and the name only begins along the second half of the line, perhaps so that the lettering would not break at the edge of one of the map's parchment sheets. The stations along this road are badly muddled.
