Road station

Corobilium

Corbeil

Corobilium was a station on the road from Reims to Langres, near the border between the provinces of Belgica and Lugdunensis, and almost everyone agrees that it is Corbeil in the Marne, near Vitry. On the map the stretch from Reims carries no distance figure at all. Older research wondered whether a whole station, Durocatalauni, today Châlons-sur-Marne, had dropped out here together with two figures, or whether the road simply left Châlons aside. Stretches of the Roman road could still be traced on the ground.
