Corniculani, a station on the road through the Po delta near Ariano, may owe its odd ending to a copyist: perhaps he still had the neighbouring name Radriani in mind, or the original read Cornicula, followed by a distance figure that has run into the name. Cornicula means little crow, which would suit an inn sign, and on the map no distance leads on to the next station.
