Coissa

Şerbetin

Coissa, in Sophene, is where the map's road from Melitene seems to end. Beyond it comes only a drawing of two towers without a name, almost certainly Amida, now Diyarbakır, and the red road line that should run on towards the Tigris and Tigranocerta, and might have cut through the first O of the word Mesopotamia, was never drawn. The station is sought at Şerbetin, near a pass called the Camel's Neck, where the climb begins; one suggestion derives the name from an Armenian word for slope. The sixteen miles the map gives to Amida are too few: it is at least twenty-two.
