Cicisa

Sidi-Tabet

Cicisa, the Cigisa of the Roman register of routes, was a bishop's seat close to Carthage, at Sidi Tabet in Tunisia. The geographer Ptolemy lists it as Kipipa, and the Ravenna list has Cesinsa. The map shows it without a picture, fifteen Roman miles from Thuraria and nineteen from Carthage, where the road up the Bagradas valley began.
