Aquas Regias

Henschir Babuscha (Miller)

Aquas Regias, the King's Waters, was a spa town in the province of Byzacena, at the ruins of Henchir Babuscha at the foot of Djebel Trozza. Most of the roads into the province met here. Victor of Vita names its community, and in 482 a priest of the King's Waters appears among the clergy of Byzacena. On the map the stretch onward is drawn as two, and the next stop has lost its name; the distances to Hadrumetum and Thysdrus also fall short, so a station seems to be missing on each of those roads.
