Road station
Auula
Kasrel Hadid oder Hr. el Chima
Avvla is a road station in Tunisia on the road from Zama Regia, ten Roman miles after Seggo and seven before Autipsidam, thirty miles in all from Zama. Its site is not known. Older research placed it at Kasr el Hadid or at Henchir el Chima, but a modern atlas of the ancient world leaves it unlocated and dates it to the Roman and late Roman period. The map writes the name with a doubled u, which is often rendered Avula.
