Ausava

Büdesheim

Avsava is Ausava, a village on the road from Trier to Cologne at Büdesheim in the Eifel in Germany, on the little river Oos, which flows into the Kyll. Older research also placed it at the village of Oos itself, and if that is right, Ausava was the name of both the stream and the place, and it survives in Oos today. Two milestones found between Bitburg and Prüm count twenty-two Roman miles from Trier. The Roman register of routes also calls the place a village, and it lists the same stations along this road as the map.
