Ad Puteum

Mersa Braiga (Miller) · Bir el-Gin?

Ad Puteum means at the well, a stop on the coast road of Cyrenaica. It stands thirty Roman miles, about forty-four kilometres, from Anabucis Praesidium and the same distance from Priscu Taberna, just a name on the road line. Older research placed it at Mersa Braiga in Libya; another suggestion is Bir el-Gin. It belongs to late antique times.
