Tunisa is placed at the remains near the village of Ras el Djebel in Tunisia, and the geographer Ptolemy probably means the same town by Thinissa. Another suggestion puts it at Tinja, but that would only work if the map's two figures, ten and twenty, had been swapped. As drawn, the station lies twenty Roman miles from an unnamed stop and ten, about fifteen kilometres, from Memblone.
