Subrita

Subrita is Sybrita, a town on the western slopes of Mount Ida in Crete, near today's Veni, which according to an ancient coastal guide had its own harbour on the south coast. The last letter of the name is too damaged to read, and older copies differ between Subrita and Subriti; a crossbar still visible at the top and the Greek spellings favour Subrita. The map counts eight miles from Eleuterna and thirty-two on to Cortina, Gortyn.
