Road station

Rasa

Rasa was a stop on the western of the two roads that led from Aila on the Gulf of Aqaba to Gaza. It is probably the Gerasa that Ptolemy lists in Arabia Petraea, and the site is usually sought at Ras el-Qaa, though it has not been securely located. The map places it sixteen Roman miles, about twenty-four kilometres, from Ad Dianam, and another sixteen from Cypsaria.
