Lalla lay somewhere on the Araxes, though its exact site is unknown. The name turns up again as Lala in the Georgian Chronicle, while the Ravenna list writes Laia. The map counts twelve Roman miles from Sanora and ten on to Ugubre, but the start of that next stretch is not marked on the road line.
