Lamatis

Dobrnja on Vrbas

Lamatis is the Aemate of a Roman register of routes, a road junction on the high plateau of Dobrnja, on the road from Salona to Servitium in the Vrbas country of Bosnia. The map's spelling is faulty, though the list of places compiled in Ravenna repeats it. An inscription of the first century probably concerns its people: the governor Scribonianus sent a legionary centurion to settle the boundary between the Sapuates and the Aematini. The map's ten miles on to Leusaba are too few; the register gives thirteen.
