Road station

Lambrum [Flumen

bei Lambrinia [Pleiades]

Listen to the story

Lambrum is named after the river Lambro, which rises between the two arms of Lake Como and joins the Po, and the station probably stood at the bridge over it on the road from Ticinum, now Pavia, to Piacenza. The map gives no distance from Pavia, but the four silver cups of Vicarello, shaped like milestones and listing the road stop by stop, supply it: twenty Roman miles, and twenty more to Piacenza.
