Road station
Alcon
Sakan Kalat oder von Bost Tschaman (Miller)
Listen to the story
Alcon stood on a caravan road that ran from Gedrosia across the lower Indus towards the Gujarat peninsula, and its distance figures place it still on the western side of the river. From about here on, the scale of the map becomes smaller. One suggestion puts the station in the land of the Oreitae, at Rhambakia; another identifies it with the Alexandria that Hephaestion founded near the Oreitan capital on the coast of Gedrosia. The Ravenna list writes Arcon.
