Ad Basilicam

Bida? (Barrington) · Azeratsa (Miller)

Ad Basilicam, at the basilica, was a station on the road from Cuicul, now Djemila, to Igilgili on the coast, and here the way divided: fifteen Roman miles to Choba, now Ziama, or thirty-three straight to Igilgili. Fifteen more led back to Ad Ficum. The Ravenna list garbles the name to Balicin, and older printed copies of the map drop the first word and read only Basilica. Its site is uncertain; one suggestion is Bida.
