Ad Calem

nahe Cagli [Pleaides] · Cagli [3]

Listen to the story

Ad Calem was the Roman village of Cales at Cagli, on the Via Flaminia as it climbs into the Apennines, and just below the town an ancient bridge of massive stone blocks, the Ponte Manlio, still crosses a stream. On the map the road beyond Cales is drawn as two stretches, needed for a sharp change of direction and for the passage through the mountains.
