Ad Capsu Iuliani

16 miles W Zarai (Barrington) · östl. vom Schott el Hodna (Miller)

Listen to the story

Ad Capsu Iuliani, named after a man called Julianus, was a station in Numidia, east of the salt lake of Chott el Hodna. It may be the ruins of Henchir Kibba, where a Roman inscription was found. The map sets it sixteen Roman miles from the next station, whose name is lost, on the way to Zarai. The road lines around it are confused: a figure of forty nearby probably belongs to the link with Ad Oculum Marinum, and the line towards Sitifis seems to be a mistake.
