Vasampus lay on the road from Vatari to Theveste, now Tebessa, twenty-seven Roman miles from that town by the map's own figures, with Mova as the stop in between. It is placed at Bordj Morsot, where a run of Latin inscriptions has come to light. Yet that site lies only twenty-two miles from Theveste, so the match holds only if the map's twelve miles to Mova were really seven. From Flavia Marci the map counts twenty.
