el-Qasaba el-Garbiya? (Barrington)

Monogami, the Monokaminon of Ptolemy, was a minor place in the western part of the Mareotis, the country around Lake Mareotis behind Alexandria, and a station on the Roman military road from Alexandria by way of Taposiris to Paraetonium. It probably lay at el-Qasaba el-Garbiya. The map draws the stretch on to Taposiris as two, with no distance figure. Older research tried to connect it with a village Ptolemy calls Cheimo; the entry itself probably goes back to the second century AD, though the place is only faintly attested.
