Mocasura

? Köseilyas ? Karaevli

Mocasura, a form found only on this map, is the Mokarsos that the Greek historian Theopompus mentioned in the 4th century BC as a small Thracian place. It was a station on the Via Egnatia between Heraclea, the map's Perintus, and Raidestos, today's Tekirdağ, probably at the village of Köseilyas north-east of that town; older maps put it at Karaevli, now usually given to Hiereo. In truth it lay west of Hiereo, and a sharp kink in the road line may hint at this. The important station of Raidestos itself is missing from the map.
